God

The Bible tells us that there is one God, and only one God. This God is all-powerful, infinite, eternal, and all-knowing. He is also a good and loving God. He created all things, including you and me, perfect in every way.

Human & Sin

God created us as human beings to know Him and to love Him, and to enjoy a wonderful relationship with him. However, we all have turned away from God in our own way – chasing after other things such as money, position, or pleasure, ignoring Him, lying, cheating, stealing, etc. We all have become anti – God i.e. sinners. The consequence of this is that we are all separated from God, detached from Him and without true joy, love, peace and hope. Waiting for our death and judgement.

God’s Love & Jesus

But God because he loves us didn’t want the situation to remain this way. At a particular point in time, (2000 years ago) and in a particular place (West Asia), God Himself came to earth as a man. This man was named Jesus, and He was the most perfect man who ever lived. Jesus showed Himself to be God through His power – He walked on water, fed thousands of people with a few loaves of bread, and calmed storms with a few words from His mouth. But Jesus also had compassion on the poor, He healed the sick, He cast out evil spirits, and spent time with the weak and destitute. This man really was God!

But the people didn’t appreciate or respect Jesus. They thought, he is lying and killed him by crucifying Him on a cross, which is one the most painful and humiliating ways of execution ever invented by man. Jesus hung on the cross for several hours, and then died.

But this was all part of God’s plan. In fact this was the very reason that Jesus came to earth – to die. He died for us, for YOU and for ME. We deserved punishment for all the sins we have done against God. But the punishment that we deserved, Jesus took on Himself on the cross. This is why He died, in order to pay the penalty for our sins. The world has never seen such great love before, that Jesus gave His very life for us!

And the great news is that Jesus did not stay dead! Death could not hold Him. Three days later Jesus rose again, to show that He finished our judgement and conquered sin and death.

Believe

Now Jesus is alive in heaven, and rules over the world as Lord [Ruler] of the universe. The Bible tells us that if we turn from our sin and believe in Jesus, our sins will be forgiven and we will have eternal life, which is a new life of joy, peace, and power. This new life will go on forever with God in heaven, even after we die.

Will you accept Him by faith today, and receive the new life that He offers to you? Listen to these words of Jesus: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30).
